The Sando’s new big room needs a bit of grit, and let’s face it, as good as the Go No Go/Vegan Mosquitos/Alphabet Cities gig will be the night before, it’s hardly going to put hair on anyone’s chest. Fairy floss all round at that one.

Supported by The Maladies, Atticus (yes, they of the old Sando days) and Ya Aha, this gig (Sat 27 March) will kick your arse into next year and make you join the army!

In the meantime, come to Spectrum (34 Oxford St, Darling-it-hurts) on Friday 5 February and check out what kind of musical songs will make their way onto this forthcoming album.

So… us boys-to-men are getting ready to record our fourth album and we’re road-testing the songs to unsuspecting audiences of rocknroll aficionados, mothers of two, South Melbourne Swans fans, Liberal voters, born-again atheists and non-practicing Christians.

Time Off magazine said our last album, Prospero was “perfectly positioned at the complex intersection of primal abrasion and intelligent emotional expression“. We don’t actually know what that means, but shit it sounds good!

The album before that, The New Violence was said to have been “approaching masterpiece status“, by Drum Media. That was a while ago so surely we must be there now.

Come and find out when we play all the hits and memories your older brothers and sister have been telling you about for years, plus a selection of the forthcoming album.

Yah Yah’s (Collingwood, VIC) on Friday 16 October and the 2am late show at Pony Bar (Melbourne, VIC) on Saturday 17 October.

Have a look at the tours page for all the dates (with one or two more to add).

Peabody has been like a busy little beaver of late, getting new songs together for the forthcoming album. Some of these songs, along with all the old classics* will be on full display at these gig, so get a spatula under your date and get yourself off the couch.

*may not be classic

YouTube seems to love Peabody. Three days ago, our new film clip for The Only Way I Know was toiling in visual obscurity amongst videos of people lighting their farts, footage of Osama Bin Laden in the hills of the Afghan/Pakistani border and 7-year-olds playing Stairway to Heaven on a left-handed mandolin. It had 249 views.

Fast-forward to.. um.. today, and we have 2531 views as the YouTube fairy has kindly put it up as one of the featured videos on its homepage.

What does this mean? Well, it basically means we’re famous. The Peabody you once knew is finished. So excuse us while we bath in a well of bling, women and women with bling. Our life from now on will play out like a 2-Live-Crew film clip. Except it won’t be a film clip, it will be real life… unlike our film clip, which is exactly that. I’m confused. Someone get me a valium. And a large pony. Ok, a horse then. Hi!
